Because we’ve got a Blu-ray review coming very soon of the first season of the Cinemax action-thriller series Strike Back, it seems fitting to pass on a heads up to fans of the fast-paced action series and Bob Dylan. In what seems like an unlikely – albeit very cool – pairing, two songs from Dylan’s upcoming album, Tempest (due September 11), will be featured in the new season of Strike Back.

One of the songs, a bluesy shuffle called “Early Roman Kings,” made its world premiere August 1, on the official Cinemax website(along with lots of additional info about the series). The tune is set to a montage of footage from the new season.

The other new Dylan song, “Scarlet Town,” will debut as the closing credits roll for the back-to-back first two episodes of Strike Back season two, Friday, August 17 (10:00-11:30 p.m. ET/PT). Fear not if you miss the debut broadcast, the song will be heard at the end of both episodes when they are available from Max On Demand and Max GO.
