We’ve been talking about the Golden Anniversary of James Bond on the big screen (including the September 25 Bond 50 Blu-ray and DVD collection
), so it’s worth letting you know – Albert R. Broccoli’s EON Productions, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios, Sony Pictures Entertainment and Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment have declared October 5 is “Global James Bond Day,” with a planned series of events planned for that day.
Definitely of interest to Bond-philes is an upcoming global online and live auction charity event of 50 lots (benefitting 12 charitable institutions) that Christie’s in London has organized. For further info about the auction event (which runs September 28 to October 8), click here
Details will be announced regarding director Stevan Riley’s brand new feature-length documentary Everything or Nothing: The Untold Story of 007. The film tells the story of “three men with a shared dream – Bond producers Albert R. Broccoli, Harry Saltzman and author Ian Fleming.”
Other planned events include “a global survey to discover the favorite Bond film by country, a film retrospective at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, a Music of Bond night in Los Angeles hosted by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, and an exhibition, Designing 007: 50 Years of Bond Style, at TIFF in Toronto.”
