Though it’s still currently in wide theatrical release following its Christmas Day, 2012 opening, 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment has just announced a March 25 Blu-ray and DVD release for the family comedy Parental Guidance. That’s a super quick turnaround – especially for a film that has become a nice little hit ($84 million worldwide so far, and counting, after three weeks of release).

The cast makes Parental Guidance irresistible for a wide demographic – we’re talking Billy Crystal, Bette Midler, and Marisa Tomei – not to mention one of the busiest rising young stars in the business, 13-year-old Bailee Madison. The film has found an audience in theaters and should prove to be an even bigger success on home video. I’m looking forward to the Billy Crystal audio commentary, including on both the Blu-ray and DVD versions of this release.

Official Synopsis: Old-school grandparents Artie (Crystal) and Diane (Midler) get more than they bargained for when they get stuck babysitting their type-A daughter’s (Tomei) overprotected kids. But things go from hectic to hysterical when Artie realizes the kids are running the house with their newfangled technology. By playing by his own rules, which include sugary snacks, old fashioned games and tough love, Artie manages to outsmart the kids and achieve the impossible- bring the family closer together!
