Breaking Bad spin-off Better Call Saul has its two-night premiere this week starting Sunday February 8, right after the mid-season premiere of The Walking Dead, and concluding Monday February 9 on AMC.

I’ll admit I am a latecomer to Breaking Bad. I just finished binge-watching my way through all five seasons and I’m kind of excited that there is a spin-off making its way to TV this week. I’m not sure Saul (Bob Odenkirk) would have been my first choice for a character spin-off, but this show does look promising.

I’m not expecting another Breaking Bad, this show looks like it will have a drastically different tone. What I’m hoping for is an entertaining show with good story-telling. It would be impossible to recapture what Breaking Bad was especially with Saul Goodman as the lead.

Better Call Saul has Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan behind it, which is encouraging. I am also excited to see Mike (Jonathan  Banks) from Breaking Bad in the trailer. He was one of my favorite characters from the show. And of course Mike can be there because Better Call Saul is a prequel (of sorts) to Breaking Bad. Who knows who else we might run into along the way.
